After-hours answering · Arizona trades
The 9 pm call still gets answered. The details are captured for follow-up.
AI phone answering for plumbing, HVAC and electrical businesses when you cannot pick up. Callers leave their request; your team confirms the next step.
Talk about your after-hours callsIf your current after-hours cover works, keep it. Already use Jobber or Housecall Pro? We check your plan and native answering features in your account before recommending Install or committing to delivery. That is separate from Answer’s CRM connections: Jobber is unverified; Housecall Pro is unavailable.
Agree the rules before the line goes live
An emergency needs a different next step.
You decide what counts as an emergency and which contacts to try. We test the transfer on your actual phone setup before you rely on it.
Recognise the emergency
With emergency handling configured, your chosen trigger words—or the caller saying “emergency”—start the emergency path. Routine booking questions wait.
Take the essential details
The agent asks for the caller’s name, callback number and location, and records the emergency.
Try your approved contacts
It attempts a transfer to the first contact, then the next if the first does not connect. The handoff includes the caller’s details and what is happening.
If nobody answers
The unanswered emergency is flagged for an owner email when the call ends. The agent cannot dispatch a crew or promise an arrival time.
A routine request for a person becomes a callback message. If your business does not handle emergency work, the agent directs callers in danger to emergency services or their utility instead of taking a job request. See the ordinary call process.
Your trade shapes the emergency rules.
Questions we agree with you during intake—not diagnostic scripts or advice to a caller.

- Does a burst pipe trigger your emergency route? Who is the first contact, and who is next if they cannot answer?
- HVAC No cooling in July
- Which no-cool calls does your business treat as emergencies? Which should become requests for your team to call back?
- Electrical Tripped main
- Is this work you take on? Which words should trigger an emergency transfer, and which contact should receive it?

No email is sent by this sample. These fields follow the actual owner-notification format; this is not a customer email or a confirmed appointment.
When an email is sent
With an owner email configured, the system sends notices for job requests that have not synced to a connected system, requests for a person, and unanswered emergency transfers. An informational call alone does not trigger one.
A successfully synced request does not also generate an email. CRM connections are not yet verified for client use, so we do not sell that as an available integration. Email delivery time is not guaranteed.
Before you hand over the evening calls.
What happens if nobody answers the emergency transfer?
With an owner email configured, the unanswered emergency is flagged for an email when the call ends. The agent cannot dispatch a crew or promise an arrival time. Your team needs to follow up.
Can Callwright book appointments after hours?
Answer records the request and preferred time. It does not check live availability or confirm an appointment. Your team calls back to agree the work and time.
When will I receive an email about an overnight call?
Eligible notices are sent when the call ends; delivery time is not guaranteed. Not every call triggers one: the email rules above explain which requests do and when a successful sync replaces an email.
Will customers receive a confirmation text?
No. Answer texting is not enabled. Your team follows up to confirm the work and appointment time.
